Karen Johnson graduated Magna Cum Laude from McNeese State University in July of 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She earned her CPA certification in January of 1983, and began her career in 1982 with Ernst and Whinney as an Audit Senior. Karen served previous stints with such companies as First Commerce Corporation, Premier Bank, and two local CPA firms.

Karen established Karen Johnson CPA, APAC in 1995, and merged with Michel Latuso Jr. CPA in 2006, formally establishing Latuso and Johnson, CPA, LLC.

Karen has extensive experience in such areas as Tax, Audits, Business Consultation, and is certified in Eldercare Services. Karen enjoys working with small business as she has performed services for construction contractors, pension plans, private individuals, engineering firms, staffing agencies, residential care facilities, retail establishments, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and consulting firms.

Karen is an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church where she currently serves on the Finance Ministry. She served on the Board of Directors for such organizations as the Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocates, The Hilltop Arboretum, East Baton Rouge Council on Aging, and The Capital City Rotary Club.

Yvette graduated Cum Laude from Louisiana State University in May of 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting where she was a member of such honor societies as Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Kappa Phi. She began her career as a Staff Accountant for Ernst and Young and served previous stints with The Rehabilitation Hospital of Baton Rouge, the corporate office of McDonalds in Baton Rouge, as well as a local CPA firm.

Yvette is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Yvette Poret-Crochet, CPA, LLC was established in January of 2000 to provide quality accounting services to individuals and small businesses in the Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas. Her firm merged with Latuso and Johnson, CPA, LLC in December of 2006. This integration expanded Latuso and Johnson’s presence to the Lafayette area.

Yvette has extensive experience in tax, audits, consultation, financial statements, and management, and has experience working with various entities. Among them being governmental programs, trust funds, small businesses, pension plans, large entities, and non-profit organizations.

Katy brings 26 years of experience as an enrolled agent to the firm.

Andrew Berthelot will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and a minor in Management in May of 2007 from Southeastern Louisiana University where he is a fixture on the Dean’s List, as well as the President’s List. He is also a student member of LCPA. Andrew is effective in serving our clients with audits, payroll, bookkeeping, as well as the preparation of tax returns. Among them being corporate, individual, partnerships, and nonprofit organizations. Andrew enjoys all types of movies and playing sports.

Christopher C. Polk graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Chris is responsible for bringing new clients to the firm as he is an active member of Business Network International By-Referral Chapter. He also assists in the preparation of tax returns, bookkeeping, and payroll. Chris is a member of First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge. He enjoys music, fishing, people, tailgating, and watching the LSU Tigers win.

Tiffany Ducote is currently enrolled at Baton Rouge Community College with a major in accounting. She plans to transfer to Southeastern Louisiana University in the fall of 2007. Tiffany is an integral part of Latuso and Johnson as she is responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable. She also assists our clients in the preparation of Tax Returns, payroll, as well as bookkeeping. She is an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church where she enjoys volunteering with the children and youth programs

Nicole Guilbeau will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May of 2008. She brings two years of accounting experience to the firm as she effectively serves our clients with bookkeeping, and the preparation of tax returns.

Jessica is currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University where she is majoring in finance.
